Oberfeldwebel Herbert Isachsen earned the German Cross in Gold on August 1, 1942 and the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on September 3, 1943 as Oberfeldwebel und Flugzeugführer in the 3. Staffel/ Lehrgeschwader 1.
