In a stunning condition a scarce to find German WW1 Imperial War Flag (Detsche Reich- Krriegsflagge 1903-1918).
The flag comes in a size of approx 1,50x1,50mtr and is single sided.
The flag was found in the Belgian Town of Spa after WW2. It was left behind by members of the US 298th Engineer Combat battalion, H- Company.
The names of this battalion are nicely marked on the lower right corner and with a capture/signing date of 21-3-1945.
John Jamison,Earl Kutschke, Eddie Schmal and Al Wald are all 4 members of H-Company.

The 289th Engineer Combat Battalion was a combat engineer battalion of the United States Army during World War II. It served under XXI Corps of the Seventh Army in action mainly in France and Germany in 1944 and 1945. It received campaign credit for participation in the Ardennes-Alsace campaign (Battle of the Bulge), Rhineland campaign,and the Invasion of Germany.
