German SA M-1933 Officer's Dagger 'J.A. Henckels Zwillingswerk Solingen'
Category:
€ 1.750,00
In a very good condition a very nice M-1933 Sturmabteilung Officer's Dagger (Dienstdolch).
This example is made by 'J.A. Henckels Zwillingswerk' from Solingen. (Rare maker!!)
The grip is near perfect as far as these daggers go, with only light traces of use.
The SA roundel shows a very small loss of enamel.
The grip eagle is the aluminum type (correct) and shows no wear to the normal areas of the wreath and wings.
The upper and lower guards are the nickle silver version (which is correct) and both show no level of wear.
The lower guard has the marking OST 2837 indicating from a member of the SA-Gruppe Ostland (initially representing the eastern/East Prussia region).
At the top of the grip the pommel nut shows no signs of tampering, and has no swirl marks on the upper surface of the guard.
The blade has on the front the motto in a transparant tone and surface of the blade is virtually flawless, save the typically scabbard runner marks that we see on all SA daggers. A stunning blade!
On the reverse we see the same condition, with the maker mark near the base of the blade in a grey/black tone.
The scabbard comes in a matching used condition with the rest of the dagger. The brown painted scabbard body shows no scratches, and has managed to retain most of the original paint but has traces of age-ing.
The fittings show the same tone as the guards and are virtually without flaw. This includes the tip ball, which shows no dent. All fitting screws are secure and show no signs of tampering.
In another word this is a very nice example of an original M33 SA Officer's Dagger.
One of the best daggers we have had for sale!
