This pattern also saw extensive use with the Fleet Air Arm, Air Sea Rescue, Coastal Command and the USAAF amongst many others and today it is a must have for any serious collector.
The jacket is made from a yellow coloured cotton material and features a three button front. There are cotton tape ties which pass around the body. To the right of this is a flapped pocket which houses the inflation lever, when fitted. The grab handles are still present and complete with the leg ties. The original zip is still present to the rear and is marked with a name LYN on various sides. The vest is fitted with the internal long (always missing).
The vest retains its original label which is bright and legible. It has also the War Department broad arrow marking below which is the RAF stores number 22C/447 and the size of large.
