British WW2 Mapset of Lt. Dew 11th Medium Regiment Royal Artillery
In a very nice condition a British WW2 Mapset of Lieutenant Dew,11th Medium Regiment Royal Artillery, Anti-Tank Unit.
The mapset comes with the large mapcase of Lt. Dew complete with newspaper articles and used roadmaps.
The 11th Medium Regiment was assigned to the 9th Army Group Royal Artillery.
The 9th AGRA landed on Arromanches on 12-15 july in support of the 43rd (Wessex) and 53rd (Welsh) Divisions and moved trough northern europe.
In Early October the 9th AGRa moved across belgium to join the 'Battle of the Scheldt'.
After that they worked themselfs up till Roermond at 17 November 1944.
After these oparations the 9th ARGA was issued to the XXX Corps for Operation Veritable, clearing the Reichswald Forrest.
The roadmaps that are inside the mapcase are the one that were used at the 'Battle of the Scheldt', the way to Roermond and for operation Veritable. Still laying on the side of the Reichswald Forrest.
The grouping contains the maps:
-Map of Walcheren-Amsterdam, Europe 1: 250.000 2nd Edition 1943 with revised date June 1943.
-Map of Maeseyck Belgium & North East France 1:100.000 Sheet 4 First Edition 1943 with revised date August 1944 and with pencil markings for the road to take.
-Map of Venlo Germany 1: 50 000 First (Emergency) Edition Sheet 8 1944 with revised date January 1945.
