USMC WW2 Hospital Corpsman Knife

In a very good condition a hard to find USMC WW2 Hospital Corpsman Knife.
The knife is initially issued to Navy Corpsman before and during WWII, these knives were intended to be used by non-combatants to create splints and stretchers. By 1943 the Marine Corps was issuing the knife to all infantry squads, as Marines found the knife’s ability to chop through the tropical growth superior to previously issued machetes.
The knife is nicely maker marked on the blade and also marked scabbard by Boyt and dated 1943.
A very stunning big bolo type knife!
