Rittmeister Hans Böhmer. earned the German Cross in Gold as a leader of the 2. Schwadron, Aufklärungs-Abteilung 7, 7. Infanterie-Division on 21 February 1942 and the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross as Commander of the Aufklärungs-Abteilung 238, 167. Infanterie-Division on 10 September 1943.
