Oberfähnrich Wolfgang Hartelt earned the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on February 23, 1945 as Oberfähnrich und Zugführer of the 2. Kompanie/ Fallschirm-Panzer-Regiment “Hermann Göring” of the Fallschirm-Panzer-Division 1 “Hermann Göring'.
