German WH NCO Paradedress Infantrie Regiment 17 'Braunschweig'
In a very good condition a German Wehrmacht NCO Infanterie parade Waffenrock tunic for Oberfeldwebel Alfred Löffler, Member of the Infanterie-Regiment 17 Braunsweig!
Soldiers were allowed to wear the Braunschweig traditional skull on their headgear. The tunic is marked (Geprüft) 4./I.R.17 on the lower part, which makes this unquestionable Inf.Rgt.17 issued tunic. Most probably Löffler (the tunic's owner) has been transferred to 12. Kompanie later after his service in 4.Kompanie of the Rgt. 17, since the buttons on the shoulder boards are numbered "12". The shoulder boards were changed due new ranks received by the owner during his long service from a private to officer. Loops for two badges, one is for a German Horse Badge which came with named award certificate.
The tunic came with "Fw.Löffler" named hanger. Salty worn condition, but still very nice. There is no moth damage but just traces of wear and use.
Size approx 48. Alfred Löffler was born on 14.4.1917. The German Horse Badge award certificate is named to him and will tell you additional information on Löffler. A beautiful tunic with provenience!
