SS-Sturmbannführer Hans Hauser earned the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on May 6, 1945 as SS-Sturmbannführer und Kommandeur of the I. Bataillon/ SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 4 “Der Führer” of the 2. SS-Panzer-Division “Das Reich”.
