US WW2 Illuminating Disc 'Hook-on Type'
In a nice early ground found or barn found condition a US WW2 Illuminating Disc.
These luminous disks were issued to US paratroopers in World War II so that they could be easily identified by friendly troops. They were usually secured to the back of a helmet by attaching them to the helmet net, tied to the straps or stitched inside the neck of the M42 jump jacket on the back.
A very nice WW2 artifact!
