US WW2 5-Panel Medic M1 Fixed Bale Helmet
In a very stunning and salty condition a US WW2 M1 Front Seam, Fixed bale named 5 panel medic helmet.
The helmet was supposedly found on the battlefield at Le Ham, A small town near Montebourg Normandy France.
The set consists of a Mc Cord made front seam, fixed bale helmet with heat stamp 666B.
The shell sports 5 painted medic roundels, all with consistent wear and field repaired helmet bales which burnt off a section of the marks on the sides during the process of welding.
The helmet chinstraps are present and the long strap has a Red Cross label sewn to it also having the name 'Gierok' written, justlike on the front of the helmet, and there appears to be possible blood stains on the straps.
Because of the red Cross label on the strap Gierok could be a member of the Red Cross that used the helmet.
Additionally, the liner also has 'Gierok' stencilled, along with medic roundels ont he front and back.
Rust stains aroung the liner match up with those on the inside of the helmet, further showing this is a matching set.
The webbing and sweatband is dry but present.
WW2 medic helmets rarely comes to the market, and 5 panel ones are as rare as hens teeth especially one that is named.
A very stunning helmet directly from my own collection.
