USAAF WW2 Loop MN-36-C C-47 Skytrain
In a very good condition and complete a US Army Airforce Loop-MN-36-C Loop Antenna Aircraft Football Radio Compass.
The ADF (automatic direction finder) Loop Antenna (football) that was found on many WWII multi-engined aircraft such as the C-47 Skytrain (Dakota), B-25, B-24, B-17, B-29, and C-54. It is also known as an automatic bearing-indicating radio compass or aircraft rotating Loop Antenna Type MN-36-C (Loop-LP-21-A).It has two electrical plug connections on the bottom, a PL-108 and a PL-112. The loop style antenna is housed inside the graphite impregnated teardrop casing.
Made by Bendix Radio Corporation between 1942-1945.
The size of this 'Football' measures 26" x 15" x 9" and weighs a little more than 11 pounds.
