US WW2 307th Airborne Engineers Battalion Combat Helmet
In a very nice condition an extreme hard to find US WW2 307th Airborne Engineers Battalion (AEB) Combat Helmet.
The fixed bale, front seam combat helmet is only one of four examples we know that are found in the Belgium Ardennes.
The helmet was found by a good lifetime airborne collector friend in this same condition.
The helmet has on both sides the decal of the 307th AEB original applied and was postwar covered with a green paint.
After cleaning the helmet decals came out.
Also when you see the front of the helmet there is a stunning big red one shield presents, indicating re-used helmet by the 307th AEB after used by the 1st Infantry Division!
The helmet shell comes with the original chinstraps and has a later war second pattern Westinghouse paratrooper liner on the inside with complete webbing and a wartime canvas chincup with 5 zinc eyelets.
This is a very stunning historical set from only a few known examples of decalled 307th AEB helmets.
Straight from my own collection and now for sale!
Be aware that complete mint examples of these helmets are double in price!
Extreme hard to find engineer combat helmet.
