USAAF WW2 A-10A Sextant in original case

In a very good condition a stunning US Army Air Force WW2 vaircraft A-10A sextant in its original wooden case with original guide and accessory. Used by many of the US Army Air Force aircrafts with navigator crew during WW2, such as bombers B-17 Flying Fortress, B-24 Liberator, and B-29 Superfortress, and transports C-46 Commando, C-47 Dakota.
The sextant would be suspended from the plexiglass astrodome in the ceiling of the aircraft while the navigator sighted a select stars, plotting its change in location with the timed plotting mechanism to determine aircraft course.
The sextant and case are both maker marked and dated 1945. A very stunning set for display!
