Kapitänleutnant Heinz Franke earned the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on November 30, 1943 as Kapitänleutnant und Kommandant of U-boot “U-262” of the 3. Unterseebootflottille.
The portrait picture comes with an original note of Heinz.
