USN WW2 M1 5th Army Shore Patrol Helmet
In a used condition a rare US Navy WW2 M1 Helmet.
The helmet comes with the stunning 5th Army Logo on the front and the SP marking on the sides of the logo, indicating use by Shore Patrol or Special Police.
The 5th Army was in charge of the Salerno Italy Landings and was the first force that entered mainland Europe.
The helmet is a nice swivel bale, front seam Mc Cord Helmet with productionnumber 921B.
It comes in the original shiny paint and with traces of of use.
It has still the original chinstraps and liner inside.
The liner is an early westinghouse liner with the original paint, webbing and chinstrap present.
on the rear is marked USN (US Navy) on the outside.
A very nice and hard to find US Navy Helmet that probably was used by the Salerno Invasion Force.
