US WW2 M1 Naval D-Day Helmet

In a very nice condition as found resently in an old collection in the USA, a US WW2 M1 Navy/ D-Day invasion helmet.
The helmet shell comes with 'invasion' stripes on top of the helmet from front to back and from left to right.
On the front next to the strip are on the left and right side from the stripes markings visible but hard to read. 'H' and 'P' or 'V' and 'P'.
Because there is later a Navy type of Red Cross added to the helmet the letters can also indicating a medical personal.
In the past is one helmet found that had one of these 'invasion' stripe from the front to the back of the helmet and is also pictured in a LCVP (Landing Craft Vehicle Personal) amoung Ranger troops for the D-Day invasion.
We don't know exactly what the stripes mean but we think it's a naval helmet marking as used during the D-Day invasion.
The helmet comes further with fixed bales and a front seam and has the productionnumber marked on the inside but hard to read.
The chintraps are original attached to the bale.
Further has the helmet a very nice firestone liner attached with the complete webbing and the original leather chintrap.
A very nice helmet set from D-Day!
