USAAF WW2 Paratrooper Mea West Vest B-4 101st Airborne Division 502nd PIR.
In a salty condition a USAAF WW2 Paratooper Mea West Life Preserver Vest type B-4.
The vest comes with cut straps (often used this way as a paratrooper) and is nicely dated 1943.
On the side the marking G.V.M. is still visible, indicating use by the 101st Airborne Division, 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment under the Command of 'George Van Horn Moseley' (GVM)
The vest was originally found in Normandy and is clearly a used item from operation Neptune (Overlord/D-Day)
The rubber is hard and because of use on a mannequin display its a bit bend.
A very nice vest and hard to find marked D-day example!
