US WW2 Named M41 Field Jacket 'James C Elgin'
In a nice used condition a US WW2 M41 / M-1941 Field Jacket.
The jacket comes in a very good mannequin size 42 and has still the functional Talon zipper.
Also is the jacket marked to the former owner inside the lining indicating use by James Carroll Elgin.
James was awarded captain in 1944 and for that a 1st Lieutenant as the jacket indicates.
The sleeve comes with the original sewed Army Service Forces patch attached.
James was a member of the 124th Station Hospital in England.
The 124th Station Hospital was a U.S. Army medical unit that served in the European Theater of Operations during World War II, providing medical care to sick and wounded American and British personnel in fixed facilities. While specific unit histories are extensive, the 124th likely played a crucial role by operating a 750-bed hospital in Newton Abbot, Devonshire, United Kingdom, from at least September 1944 onwards.
