US WW2 82nd Airborne Division 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment Bronze Star on the name of 'Wade W. Hawley'
Hawley of Company G, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division.
Hawley was born on May 22, 1918 in Bloomington, IL.
He enlisted in the Army in October 1943 in Oklahoma City, OK. After completing his training a Ft. Benning, GA, he was attached to Company G, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. Per morning reports, he was in England a week before Operation Market Garden, so I presume he made the jump. In response to Operation Nordwind, he was deployed against the Bugle in December 1944.
During the fighting in Belgium, he was shot in the head/neck on December 27, 1944. He was awarded a Purple Heart for his wound at a field hospital (location of the medal unknown). Additionally, he was later awarded this officially named bronze Star Medal. He passed away in 1986.
The WW2 Slot Brooch Bronze Star is officially machine engraved and fully functional.

A very stunning BSM from a 82nd airborne paratrooper!
