German Reichsbahn Designation Sign

In a very good condition a rare German Reichsbahn Designation Sign.
The sign comes in a size of 60x10cm approx. and was used on German railway rolling stock, locomotives, railcars, and Reichsbahn service vehicles in cooperation with the wellknown Aluminium eagles.
The raised “Deutsche Reichsbahn” lettering is sharply defined, and the plate features correct mounting holes, indicating genuine period use rather than postwar reproduction or decorative manufacture. Signs of age, wear, and surface patina are fully consistent with wartime service and long-term storage.

These designation plates were used in conjunction with Reichsbahn eagles or shields and were mounted on locomotives, railcars, buses, trucks, and specialized transport vehicles operated by the Deutsche Reichsbahn during the 1930s–1945 period. Surviving original examples are extremely scarce, as many were removed, scrapped, or destroyed during and immediately after the war.
