German SS M-1933 Officer's Dagger 'RZM M7/80'
In a very good condition a very nice M-1933 Schutzstaffel Officer's Dagger (Dienstdolch).
This example is made by Gustav Spitzer from Solingen (RZM M7/27) in 1938.
The grip is near perfect as far as these daggers go, with only light traces of use.
The SS roundel shows no loss of enamel.
The grip eagle is the aluminum type (correct) and shows no wear to the normal areas of the wreath and wings.
The upper and lower guards are made of Aluminium and both show no level of wear.
At the top of the grip the pommel nut shows light signs of tampering, and has no swirl marks on the upper surface of the guard.
The blade has on the front the motto in a gray tone and surface of the blade is virtually flawless, save the typically scabbard runner marks that we see on all SS daggers. A stunning blade!
On the reverse we see the same condition, with the maker RZM mark near the base of the blade in the same gray tone as the motto.
The scabbard comes in a matching condition with the rest of the dagger. The black painted scabbard is clearly re-painted but very stunning done.
The fittings comes in a nickle silver colour and are virtually without flaw. This includes the tip ball, which shows no dent. All fitting screws are secure and show no signs of tampering.
In another word this is a very nice example of an original M33 SA Officer's Dagger for a very nice price!
