German SA M-1933 Transitional Officer's Dagger 'Carl Eickhorn'
In a very stunning near mint condition a very nice M-1933 Sturmabteilung Officer's Dagger (Dienstdolch).
This example is made by “Carl Eickhorn” from Solingen (M7/66) and dated 1939.
The grip is near perfect as far as these daggers go, with only light traces of use.
The SA roundel shows no loss of enamel.
The grip eagle is the aluminum type (correct) and shows no wear to the normal areas of the wreath and wings.
The upper and lower guards are the nickle silver version (which is correct) and both show no level of wear.
At the top of the grip the pommel nut shows light signs of tampering, and no swirl marks on the upper surface of the guard.
The blade has on the front the motto in a gray tone and surface of the blade is virtually flawless, save the typically scabbard runner marks that we see on all SA daggers.
On the reverse we see the same condition, with the maker RZM mark near the base of the blade in the same gray tone as the motto.
Nice to see is that this transitional dagger has also the early company logo attached next to the RZM marking.
The scabbard comes in a matching condition with the rest of the dagger. The brown painted scabbard body shows no scratches on the front side, and has managed to retain almost all of the original paint.
Some traces of wear on the reverse side but not disturbing.
The fittings show the same tone as the guards and are virtually without flaw. This includes the tip ball, which shows no dent. All fitting screws are secure and show no signs of tampering.
Attached to the dagger is the original hanger (RZM marked) and belt loop!
In another word this is a very nice example of an original M33 SA Transitional Officer's Dagger.
One of the best SA daggers we have had for sale!
